The bluetooth mouse is a product
that grows on you. It gives the user the ability to work from
either side of the keyboard. There are no wires to tangle
with. What this means is the bluetooth mouse will not snag up
when you are using
it.
The bluetooth mouse is the
perfect companion to a PDA. The bluetooth mouse allows the
user to scroll through files and information quickly and
easily. The wireless compact design allows the bluetooth
mouse to be slipped into a purse or briefcase for easy access and
transport.
If the user incorporates
the bluetooth mouse into a desktop peripheral it does free up a USB
port. There are some drawbacks to the bluetooth mouse. There
are some users who have found compatibility issues with the Windows
Vista operating system.
The driver installation on
certain models of the bluetooth mouse may or may not load.
Another problem seems to be with the location of the tower.
If the tower is located in an area that does not allow a clean
signal, the bluetooth mouse may not respond properly. If it
does respond, the movements may be jerky or sluggish.
When I heard they had come out
with a bluetooth mouse, my first thought was, “Great, another
gadget to get lost in all the clutter!” To say the least, I
was skeptical. I have since changed my mind. The
bluetooth mouse is most likely one of the most overlooked technical
devices there is.
The bluetooth mouse may or may
not have been designed for the home computer. Yet I have
found the applications are endless. With wireless technology,
the bluetooth mouse makes it convenient for total control of the
screen. Scrolling from left to right for data spread sheets
is a snap with the bluetooth mouse. Being wireless, the
bluetooth mouse can be used either left of the keyboard or right
with ease. This is an asset because we have a left handed
user in the house.
There are several varieties of
the bluetooth mouse. The prices for the bluetooth mouse range
from about $30 to $70. There is an issue with compatibility
with the bluetooth mouse. Before spending the money,
the user needs to know which version of bluetooth the device in
question is formatted for. This way the bluetooth mouse that
is selected will work. The bluetooth mouse is available with
either Bluetooth 1.1 or Bluetooth version 2.1.
The Bluetooth mouse can either be
rechargeable or need battery replacement. Either way, it is
best to make sure the Bluetooth mouse is fully charged. It
can create problems when the mouse doesn't function. A low
battery light is a common feature with the bluetooth mouse.
The user will know when the device needs new batteries or
charged.
The best reason to consider
purchasing a Bluetooth mouse is the convenience of use with a
laptop. Full mouse features with the laptop are hard to argue
with. I am old fashioned and have a hard time dealing with
the finger pad.
The fact that I can use a
bluetooth mouse with my laptop has made it worth the money.
The ability to stash the bluetooth mouse away in a pocket when
traveling with the laptop makes it all the more
appealing.
